Here’s my thoughts after watching the first three episodes of Dollhouse. (Major spoilers Ahead!)

The series has that great Whedon feel to it, in the sense that the production values are good and there’s a general sense that the stories and characters are solid.

The story so far has been interesting as we learn about the Dollhouse itself and their best active Echo (Eliza Dushku). Already we can see her character developing as she remembers skills and events from her engagements.

Many people have complained about Dushku’s acting saying shes just playing Faith from Buffy in every role as an active. I myself don’t really see this unless she’s playing the tough girl role on a engagement. On the whole I’ve found all of the casts acting to be pretty good so far, nothing brilliant but nothing glaringly bad either.

I can’t wait till the Alpha story arc progresses more. I’m dying to know what he wants with Echo and I want to find out more about his character. So far we’ve just been teased with details.

It’s still hard to tell if this series is going to flop or be another awesome Whedon production. I’m thinking the latter. At the moment I’m just trying to keep an open mind and let the story unfold.

I’m glad the show has an Aussie though.
